If you have none urgent question regarding your Canadian passport application, you may contact the Passport Canada office through their web form.

Local number: 819-997-8338 (Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET)
Instruction to easily speak to a Passport Canada call centre agent.
1) Press 1 for English or 2 for French
2) If there is an automated message, wait until the message ends
3) Press 1 if you are calling in Canada then press “2” right away to speak to a service line agent.
4) You will be placed on a priority call waiting list to speak to the Passport Canada agent.
The best time to contact Passport call centre is usually in the morning, by the end of the week. Avoid calling on Monday as it is the busiest call period.

August 2, 2022 1:11 pmhahaha – not true. I have been trying every day since May 26th to talk to someone. It is August 2nd. Our passport applications were done in person on April 21st and still have not arrived.

Another way is to reach out to Service Canada office through their eform service to request a call back service. While on the phone with the agent, you can request to have your passport application file transferred to your closest passport office to get it processe asap, with extra cost. Or else, the current waiting time has gone up to around 16 weeks processing time.

As far as we know, your concern is not an issue, the passport photo date requirement only applies before submission. You will have to contact passport office diretly to find out the status of your application. Right now, a submission at local Service Canada centre will take up to 17 weeks processing time.

November 11, 2022 1:30 pmIt’s difficult to contact the service when I have an urgent issue. My original passport is not returned along with the rejecting letter of my passport renewal application. I called the service all day to find out where is my old passport but it’s always transferred to voicemails. it’s desperate.

June 7, 2023 2:26 pmWhat if we never received back our daughter’s Canadian Birth Certificate or our marriage license when applying for the passport. We DID get the passport, just not our original important documents! When I called, the person I spoke to said that she would be looking into it. She didn’t have any record of that, but was going to investigate. That was in Feb. 2023. It’s now June 2023!
